Dr. Maxwell, a Board Certified Oral Surgeon, grew up locally in Johnsonville, SC where his father has practiced dentistry for over 35 years.  He attended Clemson University where he received a Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences and graduated magna cum-laude from the Calhoun Honors College in 2000. He then attended the Medical University of South Carolina where he received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 2004. Dr. Maxwell also did his specialty training at MUSC as he completed a four year residency program in 2008.This program included training in oral surgery, anesthesia, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, general surgery, neurosurgery, medicine, and cardiology. Dr. Maxwell and his family then moved to Myrtle Beach in 2008, and he has practiced at Coastal Carolina Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery ever since. Dr. Maxwell has extensive experience in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, office-based anesthesia, facial traumatic injuries and reconstruction, facial cosmetic surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology, and orthognathic surgery.  Dr. Maxwell also places a heavy practice emphasis of using the latest technology and 3-D imaging for dental implant/reconstructive procedures.  He is on staff at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and Conway Medical Center.  Dr. Maxwell is the past president of the Grand Strand Dental Society.  He is a faculty member at the Zimmer Institute where he lectures and helps train other dentists and specialists on cutting-edge dental implant procedures.

Dr. Maxwell and his family reside in Myrtle Beach.  He has been married to his wife, Raigan, since 2006.  They have been blessed with three beautiful children; Eden, Ainsley, and Rivers. His hobbies outside of work include spending time with family, following Clemson sports, and spending time at the beach. He also enjoys running, CrossFit, golf, fishing, surfing, and generally any type of outdoor or watersport activity.
