Michael Johnson, DDS

ORAL SURGEON IN MYRTLE BEACH, CONWAY, LITTLE RIVER SC

Dr. Johnson grew up in Boulder, Colorado where he enjoyed numerous outdoor activities and sports that helped to cultivate his athletic career. He attended Kansas State University on a football scholarship where he played under Hall of Fame coach Bill Snyder. He went on to a professional football career for two years that included the Kansas City Chiefs under coach Dick Vermeil and the Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl team under Tony Dungy.

After leaving football, Dr. Johnson worked for NOAA in their earth systems research lab where the research team won the Nobel prize for atmospheric research. Dr. Johnson went back to school at the University of Colorado where he received his dental degree. He then went on to complete an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery internship at Louisiana State University. Following the internship, he was accepted into a 4 year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where he was chief resident in his final year. After completing residency, Dr. Johnson continued his education with an accredited fellowship in Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery under Dr. John Griffin.

Dr. Johnson and his family moved to Myrtle Beach in 2018. He and his wife, Megan, have 2 wonderful boys, McPherson and Miles. They love spending time at the beach.
